Hitting a plateau can act as a sign that someone is suffering from exercise fatigue. To combat this issue, a person dealing with this needs to ensure that they are recovering between sessions. Another sign of exercise fatigue could come in the form of weight gain. That’s because their body is always in a state of stress. This could cause cortisol, the stress hormone, to surge through a person’s body. When this happens, this process could lead to weight gain over time.
